ANA MARIA GIRALDO - EL TELAR DE ANA

EL TELAR DE ANA- ANA MARIA GALINDO

Her love for weaving began at Noon’s catholic school and continued at the university, where she fully devoted herself to floor loom weaving.  From preparing the loom to putting the finishing touches on your hand woven cloth, she learned the language of the loom. After traveling throughout Colombia to deepen her knowledge, she began and finished classes at University to learn new weaving techniques different than those related to floor looms. Ana maintains a small workshop in Tabio-Cundinamarca, and teaches others the techniques and the undeniable experiences that surround this art.  She employs a variety of techniques including, arauaco, macramé, cestería, knitting, and crochet. She is a professor at the University Externado de Colombia, teaching Art Restoration.  In company with Ines Urbina and Oliveiro, her employees, they are devoted to the dying of fibers with natural dyes such as Cochinilla – a natural dye used by pre-Hispanic people, and  the integration of all kind of different fibers like Alpaca, cotton, and wool.

Our ENARTE collection pushed Ana to new heights with sweater designs and trim that she had not previously developed.  Our collaboration has pushed us and Ana to achieve the most beautiful collection for women, men, and children.  Our collection with Ana is full of soft and cozy pieces that make you yearn for a fire.
