MARISOL MEDINA - ARCA DE LANA

 

 

Arca de lana is a creative team of craftswomen dedicated to the design and manufacture of objects with a wire structure, some are covered with wool and others with cotton thread. All their objects are totally hand made. Designs are unique and original, inspired in real or fantastic animals and creatures. Since 1998 Marisol Medina (industrial designer) got enchanted with the technique of coiling wool and thread on wire. Ever since, she has created a variety of objects and decorative elements . When Arca de lana started Marisol used to make only large and medium-sized objects. Later on, she began to create objects of different sizes, varying costs and new designs to accommodate her costumers’ needs. Arca de Lana’s team is conformed by single mothers from the Colombian country side. These women not only find in this job an income to support their homes and families, but also the satisfaction of transforming simple materials into beautiful crafts with their own hands

 

For the Kids collection, ENARTE has designed the Animal Hangers. With the ability of the members of Arca de Lana, the brand introduces this beautiful creatures as an excellent gift for baby showers or kids decor. A new way to make Marisol's Art very useful.
